Wayne ARC
raised over $20,000 at their 26th Annual Golf Tournament held
at Wayne Hills Country Club on the 20th of June. The overall sponsor
of the event was Lyons National Bank. Platinum Sponsors of the
event were Ely & Leene, Mead & Maloy, Dobbins Drugs /
Old Lyons Hardware. The success of this tournament is attributed
to generous sponsorship and countless contributions of time and
energy by committee members and volunteers. The committee is comprised
of Steve Felker and Tim Cappon both having served for 20 years,
Tracy Clingerman, Tina Walton, Terri Skinner, David Calhoun -
Executive Director of Wayne ARC, John Tickner, Mark Peake, Gary
Reilly and Sue Bryant. Volunteers for the day included Katie Vowell,
Donna DeWolf, Jim Williams, Jeanna Rouland, John Clingerman, Kelly
Volkmar, David Darcangelis, Bill Beck, Wendy Fletcher, Pam Precourt,
Seana Freling, Jack Skinner and Jean Minkau.
The tournament
boasts several events - most notably a hole in one contest sponsored
by Mike Barnard Chevrolet, a putting contest and a closest to
the pin 50/50 contest in memory of Bill Patterson, the founder
of the event, sponsored by Ely & Leene / Mead & Maloy.
The putting contest this year was won by John Joyce Sr., who received
a set of 4 deluxe chairs valued at $250, donated by Old Lyons
Hardware. The memorial closest to the pin contest was won by Tony
Patanzo who received a $250 cash prize with an additional $250
donated to Wayne ARC.
The winning
scratch foursome of this year's tournament was Bill Lunney, Henry
Bourg, Bruce Barit and Rick Kaspereck. The winning handicap foursome
was Rob Gilbert, Dave DePauw, Jim Loson and Bob Lyons.

| Assemblyman
Robert Oaks has presented Wayne ARC with a $7500.00 grant
to fund the purchase of two Full Body Lifts for Non-Ambulatory
Patients and a Deli Meat Cooler. |
| The
full body lifts are in use in the Wayne ARC Day Habilitation
Program. They assist individuals with activities often taken
for granted such as sitting, standing and toileting. The lifts
provide greater security and less stress for the individuals
we serve during transfers. |

| The
deli meat cooler is being utilized by the Wayne ARC cafeteria
in the sub shop which is part of the Key Industries Food Service
Program. This valuable program provides individuals with the
opportunity to build many skills while providing a service
to the staff through a full service cafeteria, the community
through catering services and the county through the well
known Meals-on-Wheels Program. |

Hodgeman, Tracy Clingerman, Tina Walton, and new to
the committee this year were David Calhoun, Executive
Director of Wayne ARC, John Tickner, Mark Peake, Gary
Reilly and Craig Arnold. Volunteers for the day
included Katie Vowell, Donna DeWolf, Jim Williams, Melissa
Carmen, Jeanna Rouland, Connie Sandroni, John Clingerman,
Kelly Volkmar, David Darcangelis, Bill Beck and Barb
Viola.
The
tournament boasts several events - most notably a hole in
one contest sponsored by Fernandez Ford Mercury of Wolcott,
a putting contest and a closest to the pin contest in
memory of Bill Patterson, the founder of the event, sponsored
by Ely & Leene / Mead & Maloy. The putting contest
this year was won by John Joyce Sr., who received
a gas grill donated by Old Lyons Hardware. The memorial
closest to the pin contest was won by Sean Kelly
who received a $250.00 cash prize. The winning foursome
of this year's tournament is a group who has played most
of the 25 years that this tournament has been in existence.
They are Kris Wagner, Dave Wagner, Bruce Wagner, Joe
DeSain & ardent supporter, Gino Tricarico.
Wayne

On
Tuesday, May 22nd, Wayne ARC held their Annual Membership and Election
of Officers Meeting at the Quality Inn of Newark. Board officers
were elected for the coming year as follows: President; Sandra Woodard,
First Vice President; Bret Vanzo, Second Vice President; Kathleen
Denniston, Secretary; Helen Wright, Treasurer; Carol Kenyon. Directors
elected and reinstated are Essie Barnes, Joseph DeSanto, MaryJane
Healy, C. Grace Kreuger, Sally Praino, Hannelora Reinhardt, Duane
Seager, Joseph VanHaelst, Sharon Boyd and Bill Cathy.
Several
awards were given to individuals served by Wayne ARC to acknowledge
individual success and extraordinary effort. Additionally, the
Sodus Lioness Club was given the Good Neighbor Award
for their commitment of time and energy to the residents of
the Wayne ARC Sodus IRA (Individual Residential Alternative).
Erin Mast was presented the Parent Advocacy Award
for her efforts in advocating for her child while serving to create
a support system for other parents of children with developmental
disabilities. John Doley of Fingerlakes Bus Company
was awarded the Roosevelt Children's Center Precious Cargo
Award for his commitment to the children he transports daily.
Zotos International was acknowledged with the Partners
In Vision Award for their continuous belief in and appreciation
for the abilities of the individuals we serve.Several members
of the Zotos staff were on hand to accept this award.

Saturday, September 30th, 2006 Wayne ARC hosted their 7th
Annual Harvest Events which included Helen's Run,
Ashley's Walk and Tomorrow's Promise Fun Run. 60 participants
either walked or ran raising funds and awareness for the Ashley
Henkel Memorial Award and the Roosevelt Children's Center and honoring
the lives of Helen Addona and Ashley Henkel.
Special
