Wayne
ARC's Family Support Department provides individualized services
designed to increase the independence and productivity of developmentally
disabled individuals and assists their families in providing their
care in the home.
Our
various programs include:
- Homemaker
Skill Training - provides training program in skills such
as cleaning, cooking and home management, enabling the individual
to be a more contributing member of the household. Also
provides respite care to assist the family in caring for
the disabled individual.

- Family
Reimbursement Program - assists in obtaining reimbursement
for additional expenses such as hiring respite care or purchasing
special equipment.

- Recreation
Program for Adults and Children - offers an extensive array
of activities for all ages (shopping, Bingo, dances, roller
skating, sporting events, boat rides, picnics, exercise
programs, museum trips). The program strives to promote
diversity, entertainment and personal fulfillment through
community integration.
- Children's
Programs - programs are provided at Roosevelt Children's
Center and include Before & After School Care, Gymtastics,
Play & Grow.
- Family
Education & Training - support groups as well as training
sessions are planned throughout the county to assist families
as they care for their loved ones.
